In order to promote the innovation capability of universities,the UK government encourages universities to get the Third Stream Funding,Higher Education Innovation Fund(HEIF) is not only an important part of the Third Stream Funding,but also a main financial source for universities.This article discusses the operation of Higher Education Innovation Fund(HEIF),including its development and effects,and analyzes the future direction of the innovation funding in UK universities.
